IAESTE Ski Weekend
February 20-22th, 2026

To get 2026 off to a fresh start, we would like to invite our fellow IAESTE members and friends to join us for an unforgettable ski weekend in the Lenk area! Whether you are a professional ski/snowboarder or have never seen snow before, this weekend cannot be missed! Ski and snowboard teachers are available for the beginners to help you get started. If you arrive with energy, some ski gear and the willingness to take on the slopes, this will be a once in a lifetime Swiss IAESTE experience!

The weekend starts on Friday night with a small pizza party to fill our bellies and hearts for a good night’s sleep before Saturday.

On Saturday morning, we will have breakfast, collect ski passes (and rental equipment for those who need it), and hit the slopes! The beginners go to the beginners area of Lenk Betelberg – here you will be led as a group(s) by a tutor to help you gain and/or develop your skills. For the rest, you will have a pass for the entire Lenk Betelberg area to enjoy wisely. After we have tired ourselves for the morning, we have a group lunch booked at restaurant Berghaus Stoss. When lunch is over, everyone can continue enjoying the slopes until the Fondue dinner and party back at the accommodation in the evening.

Sunday morning we will have breakfast, make packed lunches, pack away our things and do a bit of accommodation tidy and cleanup. Then, for those who have opted for the Sunday ski pass, we have a full day with ski passes for the entire Lenk region to enjoy all the area has to offer!

Have we interested you? Read below to find out more details and how to register. We hope to see members old and new join us for the first IAESTE weekend of 2026!

Participation Fees

This year we are offering three different options based on your ski level!

  1. Chill Beginner, CHF 150:
    • Saturday: Beginner Lenk-Betelberg area
!!! This Beginner Ticket cannot be extended to the full domain, so you are restricted to beginner slopes. If you’re totally new to skiing this is enough and recommended as it is cheaper, but if you already have a basic level of skiing I would go for the full ticket. See https://lenk-bergbahnen.ch/unsere-tickets/tarife-ski-snowboard/#beginner-ticket  for more details
    • Sunday open to do whatever you would like to! Our proposals:
      • If want to stick to just the beginner area on Sunday again, you can decide and pay just 37 CHF on the day itself as that has no group discount anyway
      • Chill somewhere and recover after feeling new muscles
      • Do another activity, there are options in Lenk to go ice skating or bouldering
  2. Motivated Beginner, CHF 210:
    • Saturday: Beginner Lenk-Betelberg area
!!! Same conditions for Beginner ticket apply to what is mentioned above
    • Sunday: Full Adelboden-Lenk area
  3. Full Package, CHF 240:
    • Saturday: Full Lenk-Betelberg area
    • Sunday: Full Adelboden-Lenk area

Some extra comments:

  • Of course you can choose whichever package and still request being in the tutor group – you need to specify the need for the tutor and which package separately.
  • If you are a lucky person who already has some season pass or ticket that covers you for this area, get in touch with our email (see below) and we could look into a package with everything but the ski pass

A surcharge of 40 CHF will apply for participants who are not affiliated with IAESTE.

Included in the registration fee:

  • Accommodation for two nights
  • Restaurant lunch on Saturday
  • Dinner and some drinks on Friday & Saturday
  • Breakfast for Saturday & Sunday
  • Packed lunch Sunday
  • Transport within Lenk area
  • Ski tickets depending on which option you choose (1, 2 or 3)
  • A 5 CHF deposit for your ski pass. You are then each individually responsible to return your own ski pass at the end of the day to get the 5 CHF back

Not included:

  • Train ride there and back
  • Ski/Snowboarding equipment rentals
  • Extra non-skiing activities
  • Sunday activity for chill beginner registration

How to pay:

Bank transfer must reach the account by 06.02.2026. The account details will be sent to the email you register with. Your place will no longer be reserved and someone from the waiting list will take your spot if you do not pay on time. Also make sure to mention your name and skiweekend in the open comment section of the bank transfer!

Cancellation Policy

The following percentages must still be paid if you cancel at different times before the event:

  • 50 % if cancel before 14.02.2026
  • 75 % if cancel before 17.02.2026
  • 100 % if cancel after 17.02.2026

  • Ski/Snowboarding equipment if you do not plan to rent there (if you plan to rent there, it is highly recommended to reserve beforehand)
  • Slippers for inside the accommodation
  • An extra pair of shoes if you are renting equipment, as you will leave your shoes at the rental shop
  • Helmet and goggles
  • IAESTE spirit and lots of determination!

Meeting Point

The meeting point for everyone is at the accommodation:

Ferienheim Ittigen

Lenkstrasse 35

3775 Lenk

Arrivals on 20.02.2025 from 19:00-24:00.

We have the whole 4-floor house for ourselves!

Contact

If you have any individual or personal questions or need to contact us about the event, before, during and/or after registration, you can send an email to: jose.contreras@lczurich.iaeste.ch.

A WhatsApp group chat will also be set up for registered participants for asking general questions, asking for advice about skiing and gear in general, as well as getting in touch with your fellow event participants to coordinate for the weekend!

We will send major updates via email to those who are registered.

Special Notes

Skiing and snowboarding is notorious for its accidents. However, most of our IAESTE trainees only have basic health insurance and are not well covered for rescue missions in the mountains. Therefore, the organizers recommend you to become a patron at the Rega non-profit organization. The price is only 40 CHF for world round repatriation insurance which is basically for free with respect to the full cost of helicopter rescue in the Swiss alps…!

Renting equipment

Recommended to reserve in advance!

Skimiete INTERSPORT Troxler Lenk im Simmental | INTERSPORT Rent

Another option is to buy cheap/decent price equipment at Facebook Marketplace or https://www.tutti.ch/de . Be aware of selecting the right size and level of equipment.
