JUMP - The IAESTE Training and Motivation Seminar
Dear delegates, Zurich, January 2002
experience and motivation are important requirements for running an organisation like IAESTE. Unfortunately neither anyone is born as an IAESTE expert nor one can find the two attributes anywhere on the street.
JUMP is focusing exactly on this: JUMP's aim is to train and motivate new people to work for IAESTE.
The IAESTE Training and Motivation Seminar JUMP has already a long tradition. Founded in 1995 by IAESTE Austria, it is been held already for seven times:
| 1995 |
Vienna, Austria |
1999 |
Sliema, Malta |
| 1996 |
Salzburg, Austria |
2000 |
Richterswil (Zurich), Switzerland |
| 1997 |
Thessaloniki, Greece |
2001 |
Barcelona, Spain |
| 1998 |
Ohrid, Macedonia |
2002 |
Budapest, Hungary |
| 2003 |

During the four days in October the participants join working groups as "Marketing", "LC Management", "IAESTE Administration", "Summer Reception" and "Jobraising". They get trained from experienced co-ordinators. The exchange and transfer of knowledge among the different IAESTE countries is a motivation for the participants. New ideas, wishes and suggestions generated during JUMP, will be forwarded as new input to the GC, SID or AC.
The seminar is accompanied by lectures and speeches of well-know orators: Marcus Orlovsky (Occam Green, London), Daniel Borel (Chairman of Logitech International SA, Lausanne), rectors from universities and trainers from motivation companies. Finally the sightseeing excursions, the international party as well as a traditional party are part of JUMP.
After steady increase, the number of participants reached approximately 80 people from twenty different IAESTE member countries. The quality of organisation reached a high level.
To keep the continuity, the quality and the knowledge of JUMP it is necessary to have a webpage, where guidelines for JUMP, working group reports, contact lists and announcements can be found. Therefor the writer was elected as the first JUMP co-ordinator.
