IAESTE Wellness Weekend
October 2-3, 2010

Hello Trainees!

Probably all of you have seen the beautiful swiss mountains at least on pictures. In this weekend you can experience it at night, followed by a relaxing wellness. The weekend starts at saturday night with a good, long hike. The goal is the peak Fronalpstock. There we will enjoy a good breakfast with a beautiful view over the lake.

With cable car we will make the way down to the famous wellness resort "Swiss Holiday Park" with sauna and baths.

At the end of the weekend we can go together for a pizza in Brunnen (not included in the participation fee).

Program

Saturday, October 2

  • 22:00 week-end warm-up with a drink in Brunnen
  • leave swimming suit, towels, etc. at Swiss Holiday Park
  • 23:30 start hiking
  • Break around fire with tea and snacks

Sunday, October 3

  • Watching the sunrise
  • 8:00 Breakfast on the Fronalpstock
  • travel back to Swiss Holiday Park by cable car and bus
  • Relaxing at the Swiss Holiday Park
  • 17:00 Dinner in Brunnen (optional, not included in the fee)

Participation fees

Note that the official start of the week-end is in Brunnen but becausewe start hiking from Morschach (post) it will be cheaper if you buy aticket from your place directly to Morschach. Please buy the ticket toMorschach yourself. For participants with Gleis 7, the travel to Brunnen (not from Lausanne) and the return trip from Brunnen comes for free.

  • With SBB General Abonnement (GA): 60 CHF
  • With SBB half-fare (1/2) and Gleis 7: 65 CHF
  • With SBB half-fare (1/2) but no Gleis 7: 65 CHF
  • Without SBB half-fare (1/2): 65 CHF

If you do not yet have a SBB half-fare card, we recommend you buying one! Check the SBB website!

A surcharge of 25 CHF will apply for participants who are not affiliated with IAESTE or its partner organisations.

The money will be collected at the start of the weekend . Only cash is accepted! :-)

Included in the participation fee

  • Transportation from Brunnen to Morschach, cable car and bus
  • Drink in Brunnen
  • Entrance Swiss Holiday Park
  • Breakfast on Sunday morning
  • Tea, soup and snacks during break when hiking
  • Small snack for lunch at Sunday
  • lots of fun

Not Inculded in the participation fee

  • Travel to Brunnen (free with Gleis 7)
  • Dinner and drinks on Sunday in Brunnen
  • Travel back home (free with Gleis 7)

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration
  • less than 12 hours before the start of the event (that is, 10:00 AM, 2.10.10), you pay the entire participation fee
  • 12-24 hours before the start of the event, you pay 75% of the participation fee
  • 24-48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 50% of the participation fee
  • after confirming but before 48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 25% of the participation fee

Checklist - Remember to Bring

We suggest packing your stuff into two different bags. One bag with the wellness equipment, which we will leave at the Swiss Holiday Park and a rucksack which you take on the hike.

Very Important:

  • Cash for paying the participation fee
  • Warm and appropriate cloths for the nighthike, also for the breaks (gloves, cap...)
  • Good and confortable hiking shoes

Put in hiking rucksack:

  • torch (headlamp), it`s going to be very dark!
  • some food and drinks for the night hike
  • raincoat or similar
  • a spoon (for soup)
  • two cups (one for tea, one for soup)
  • (optional) plastic bag to sit on it
  • (optional) camera

Put in Wellness bag:

  • swimming cloths
  • two towels, one for sauna, one for taking a shower afterwards
  • toiletry (shampoo, etc.)
  • fresh cloths to change after hike

Meeting point and train connections

  • Meeting point 1: In the train from Basel to Brunnen that departs 20:03. Let's meet in the first (direction of motion) 2nd class wagon. See time table below.

Registration

The maximum number of participants allowed for this event is 20 (including organizers and helpers) and the registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If your registration is not among the first 20, it will be put on the waiting list.

The online registration closed on Wednesday, 29 September 2010, at 18:00:00.
