IAESTE Mystery Weekend
July 3-4, 2010

Switzerland may be small, but it's also rich in undiscovered gems. IAESTE LC Zürich invites you, for just one weekend, to forget all about Zürich, Basel, Geneva, Bern, and all those ordinary places. We invite you to go to places you wouldn't otherwise see, to experience details you wouldn't otherwise notice and, most of all, to set off without knowing where you will end up.

Program

Saturday, July 3

  • 08:00: First group meets under the big clock in Zürich main station.
  • 09:00: Second group meets under the big clock in Zürich main station.
  • The rest of the program is a tightly kept secret. :-)

Sunday, July 4

  • Program is secret...
  • Roughly 18:00: End of weekend.

Participation fees

  • With SBB General Abonnement (GA): 55 CHF
  • With SBB half-fare (1/2): 67 CHF
  • Without SBB half-fare (1/2): 90 CHF

If you do not yet have a SBB half-fare card, we recommend you buying one! Check the SBB website!

The money will be collected at the start of the weekend. Only cash is accepted! :-)

Included in the participation fee

  • Dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday
  • Accommodation for the night
  • Transport on Sunday

NOT included in the participation fee

  • Transportation on Saturday: you should buy an SBB 9 o'clock day pass. This ticket lets you take any SBB train/bus/whatever from 9:00 on any day, and for all day on weekends. However, you need a half-fare card for this ticket. It costs 54 CHF.
  • The ticket back home on Sunday. Since you don't know where you're going, you need to buy this on Sunday. However, we promise not to send you to Copenhagen. ;-)

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration
  • less than 12 hours before the start of the event (that is, 21:00 AM/PM, July 2), you pay the entire participation fee
  • 12-24 hours before the start of the event, you pay 75% of the participation fee
  • 24-48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 50% of the participation fee
  • after confirming but before 48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 25% of the participation fee

Checklist - Remember to Bring

  • Cash for paying the participation fee
  • An SBB day pass for Saturday (you can get them at the ticket machines) (see above)
  • Lunch for Saturday
  • Your inner Sherlock Holmes

Meeting point and train connections

  • The first group meets at the Zürich HB meeting point at 08:00. The second group meets at 09:00. You will be informed which group you are in.
  • Due to the nature of the event, you must meet at Zürich HB.

Registration

The maximum number of participants allowed for this event is 25 (including organizers and helpers) and the registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If your registration is not among the first 25, it will be put on the waiting list.
