IAESTE Liechtenstein Weekend
August 14-15, 2010

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the eastern part of Switzerland lies a small unregarded country. Living here for about 200 years is an utterly insignificant little ape-descended life form, which is so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.

Vaduz Castle

Paraphrased freely from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this paragraph describes the country of Liechtenstein in a not very accurate way. Liechtenstein is indeed very small, and it has indeed been mostly independent for about 200 years, but it is not unfashionable, uncharted, unregarded or insignificant. Digital watches may be dull by now, but if you have an accurate one, you can tell that on August 15, Liechtenstein celebrates its national day. And we will be there to celebrate with them, in the castle itself, open to the public only on this day.
