IAESTE LC Basel invites you to experience all of this! 

Basel is one of Switzerland's centers for art, music and architecture. Thanks to its central location at the 'three-countries-corner' where Switzerland, Germany and France meet, the city on the elbow of the Rhine is also an important center for fairs and congresses.
Let's sleep in a war bunker and enjoy the Rhein river.

Accomodation and Scooter
And adventure in "Wasserfallen" to a hiking and then "Trottinetts" (kind of scooter) down in the mountain.

Program

Saturday, June 19

  • 09:15  We meet at the meeting point at SBB
  • Guided sightseeing tour through Basel (in English)
  • Lunch around the Rhein
  • Afternoon: visit famous Art | 41| Basel or Basel Zoo
  • Evening: Barbecue, we will provide food and drinks
  • Private Party in bunker or discover Basel’s nightlife!

Sunday, June 20

  • Morning: Getting up and having breakfast
  • 11:30 Boat trip from Basel to Kaiseraugst
  • Bus to Reigoldswil
  • Cable car up to "Wasserfallen"
  • Small hiking around 1 hr
  • "Trottinetts" (kind of scooter) for a fast and furious race back down. 

Participation fees

  • With SBB General Abonnement (GA): 105 CHF
  • With SBB half-fare (1/2) and Gleis 7: 115 CHF
  • With SBB half-fare (1/2) but no Gleis 7: 115 CHF
  • Without SBB half-fare (1/2): 125 CHF

If you do not yet have a SBB half-fare card, we recommend you buying one! Check the SBB website!

A surcharge of 20 CHF will apply for participants who are not affiliated with IAESTE or its partner organizations.

The money will be collected at the start of the weekend . Only cash is accepted! :-)

Included in the participation fee

  • Lodging (the night between Saturday and Sunday)
  • Local transport
  • Boat trip
  • Trottinett rental and cable car ride
  • BBQ on Saturday
  • Breakfast and packed lunch on Sunday
NOT included: train ticket from your home to Basel and from Liestal back

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration
  • less than 12 hours before the start of the event (that is, 09:15 AM, 19/08/2010), you pay the entire participation fee
  • 12-24 hours before the start of the event, you pay 75% of the participation fee
  • 24-48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 50% of the participation fee
  • after confirming but before 48 hours before the start of the event, you pay 25% of the participation fee

Checklist - Remember to Bring

  • Cash for paying the participation fee (please the exact change ready)
  • lunch for Saturday
  • sleeping bag
  • comfortable shoes
  • rain jacket in case of bad weather
  • Small bag to carry your food and your own drinks
  • Swimming suit, towel (if you want to swimm in Rhein river!)
  • Lots of energy and your best smile!

  • Meeting point for all participants is Basel SBB train station meeting point (right side getting down from the escalator, close to the phone boxes) at 9:15 AM.

Registration

The maximum number of participants allowed for this event is 25 (including organizers and helpers) and the registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If your registration is not among the first 25, it will be put on the waiting list.
