Fees

Registration Fee

For the registration with IAESTE Switzerland we ask for a CHF 32.30 registration fee (including VAT) .

Participation Fee

The part of the costs for the placement that needs to be covered by the student is CHF 400. The participation fee has to be paid when the student sends his nomination to IAESTE Switzerland.

Please note that most schools only support one traineeship per student, which means that if you want to do a second IAESTE traineeship, you will have to pay CHF 700 instead of 400. Also schools only pay a contribution when you're still enrolled during the period of the traineeship. If you do the traineeship after having fnished your studies, it may be that your school won't support you anymore. In that case, you will also have to pay CHF 700. Please contact us for further information. IAESTE is a non-profit-organisation, therefore we need the contributions of schools, students, partners, sponsors, etc.

Repayment of fees

The registration fee of CHF 32.30 will not be refunded under any circumstances whereas the participation fee of CHF 400.-/700.-will be paid back provided that the employer has cancelled the job offer.

In case of cancellation by a student, fee repayment will be possible if justified only (e.g. illness, accident or death of next kin).

If a student doesn't want to do the traineeship anymore, IAESTE won't refund the fees. The problem is that we receive a lot of applications and if a student cancels suddenly his traineeship, we often don't have time to find a new candidate. In the worst case, the employer abroad doesn't want to work with IAESTE anymore.

Salary

The trainees are being paid a salary by their employer. The salary is sufficient to cover the cost of living during the traineeship. But they will use their own resources to cover travel expenses and the cost of any activities in the host country. We take for granted that applicants are in a position to cover travel expenses.
