IAESTE Members' Event & Yearly Brunch
November 19-20, 2010

 

Nights are exciting. Dark, misterious and you never know what is going to happen. Many people sleep then. But in the case of this Friday night, that would be a complete waste of time! Come and join LC members from all over Switzerland to accompany the IAESTE spirit for a joyful hike under a starlit sky.
The end of the night will first take us to a fragrant place.and then to a thermal bath to recover from the night and get ready for a really, really tasty brunch with eggs, bacon, fruit, fresh bread *mhhm*.
For those who really have to sleep during the night (or the day) there is to possibility to register just for one of the parts: member event and/or yearly brunch.

 

Program Members' Event 

Friday to Saturday

  • 23:33, meet at Zürich HB (@ Restaurant Federal in the trainstation main hall)
  • 23:40, take the tram nr. 4 to Werdhölzli (you have to get a ticket beforehand)
  • Hike to Baden
  • Play one of the popular 'Nora-games'
  • Cosy gathering around the the fire with some hot soup and grilled marshmallows
  • Arrive in Baden with stop at the 'fragrant place'
  • Hot springs (Thermalbad Bade) at 7:30 am to relax and recover til 10am

Participation fees

Both, members' event and the yearly brunch will be free of charge for LC members and potential members. However, we have to charge a small fee in case of last-minute cancellations or no-shows!

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration less than 48h before the start of the event (that is Wednesday, Nov. 17th at 23:45) or do not show-up despite having registered, you will be charged 10 CHF.

Checklist - Remember to Bring

  • Good & comfortable shoes (the hike is not difficult but it will be cold)
  • Tram ticket to Werdhölzli zone 10 (Please get it before coming to the meeting point!)
  • Warm and appropriate cloths for the nighthike, also for the breaks (gloves, cap...)
  • Raincoat, umbrella according to the weather
  • Torch light (If you are not enlightened yourself)
  • A cup and spoon for the soup
  • 0.5l of tab water for the soup
  • some food and drinks (Water, hot tea, ...) for the night hike
  • (optional) plastic bag to sit on it
  • (optional) camera
  • swimming cloths (but no towel, since one is included in the entrance)
  • toiletry (shampoo, etc.)
  • fresh cloths to change after hike/thermal bath
  • GPS in case we get lost :)
  • Everything that could make the time go faster...

Meeting point and train connections

  • member event: At 23:33 (Friday), we will meet at Zurich main station at restaurant Federal in the main hall. Get your tram ticket beforehand!
  • yearly brunch: At 10:15 (Saturday), everybody meets at the restaurant 'Roter Turm' in Baden, Rathausgasse 5. It is a 5 min. walk from the train station Baden.

Registration

The maximum number of participants allowed for this event is 40 (including organizers and helpers) and the registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If your registration is not among the first 40, it will be put on the waiting list.
