For every internship we can offer to a foreign trainee, a Swiss student has the possibility to do an internship abroad. By offering one internship you enable two students to gain valuable practical experience abroad and broaden their horizons.
Profile of qualification
In order that an internship is suitable for the IAESTE programme, it has to fulfil two conditions: the internship has to last between 2 and 12 months and must be paid with at least CHF 2000 per month. The worldwide exchange is simplified if English is the only language required.
Course of events
It is always in January during the international Annual Conference when the internship placements will be exchanged in relation 1:1 between the IAESTE member countries. Therefore, especially at the end of the year, IAESTE Switzerland is intensively looking for internship placements for the following year.
However, we are also glad to receive your registration of a placement during the entire year: our international IAESTE-Intraweb enables us to do a constant online exchange.
It would be most suitable to announce your placement 3 months before the planned start of the internship.
The more detailed the job description, the easier it is to find a suitable candidate. In case the suggested nomination is not suitable, we kindly ask you to inform us about the reason. This will help us to optimize the selection process. We will do our best to find another candidate for you.

Work contract
The work contract is issued between the employer and the trainee. The salary has to be paid by the employer and must be at least CHF 2000 per month.

The social security contributions (AHV/IV/SUVA) and the withholding tax have to be effected by the employer. (The AHV contribution can be reclaimed by the students after the internship. However, the efforts and the costs are higher than the AHV which was paid into, even if the internship lasts 12 months.)
